Social Club for the Blind in Beit Heine
Founded in 1989, the Social Club for the Blind was the initiative of the Friends of the Beit Heine Community Center. The site offers a variety of community activities adapted especially for the blind, such as parties, lectures, classes and trips.
The blind who came to Beit Heine for activities intended especially for them, later integrated into the community center's ongoing operation. The activities that took place at the club received very positive opinions and responses.
Haifa Arts Foundation has supported the Club from the very beginning, and helped funding transportation for the blind from their homes to Beit Heine and back. As the representative of the club described it ... "the Foundation's ongoing help brought a ray of light into our dark world..."
